    Each mirror is made especially for you.The picture illustrates the style, but as every one is made by hand, no two designs are the same so you can be sure that your mirror is quite unique.
The colours are usually mixed but if you would like a colour to be predominent please state.

The term decoupage comes from the French word decouper, meaning 'to cut out'.Although the art can be traced back as far at least as the 12th Century, it was in the 17th Century that laquer work from the Far East influenced European fashions.
Decoupage became a popular pastime with ladies during the 18th century who used scraps to decorate screens, fans, boxes and other objects.
Images are carefully cut and pasted, these are layered with coats of varnish which are sanded in between the layers causing the finished item to resemble Oriental laquerwork.
Great care is taken in arranging the pictures to disguise edges creating a pleasing appearence and each mirror takes a considerable amount of time to make. Screens can be made to commission, please phone to discuss. |
